Methodology
Rules
- Values are copied from stored, hash-checked snapshots of each public release. Nothing is re-estimated.
- Every measure belongs to a comparability group. Values from different groups never share a chart axis: state survey values, county model estimates, final and provisional death rates are always shown separately.
- When a source has no value, the page says so and why; the gap is never filled or interpolated.
- Captions are generated from the same rows as the chart and contain no other numbers.
- Rankings show order only; a difference between neighbouring states is often within the 95% intervals.
- This site shows population statistics. It does not give medical advice.
- Pages in other languages are translated from the English version; numbers are identical in every language.
